Our Ladies Cycling Training is designed to help you get on your bike and enjoy it!
Join one of our small groups of like minded ladies, led by fully qualified Bikeability Instructors.
You may be a beginner; you could be someone returning to cycling after a break, a leisure cyclist wanting to improve technique or a commuter who is nervous about busy roads. This Ladies Cycle Training course is designed to get you on your bike, and enjoy all the benefits that brings – improved health, more energy, more fun and savings to your travel costs.
Taking place on quiet local roads, participants will get a taste of a real cycling experience learning how to deal with traffic on short journeys such as cycling to school or the local shops.
Topics covered will include:
- How to prepare yourself and your bike for cycling
- Road awareness and positioning
- Signalling and manoeuvres
- Sharing space with pedestrians and other road users
Courses will run over two 2-hour sessions and places will be offered strictly on a first come first served basis. Payment is required in advance to secure your place.
When are the courses?
We are currently able to offer a choice of the following dates – places are filling up fast so secure your place now to ensure your preferred dates. The sessions will take place between 6pm and 8pm.
April 23rd & 30th – Tuesdays
May 16th & 23rd – Thursdays
June 4th & 11th – Tuesdays
July 2nd & 9th – Tuesdays
What do I need?
- A roadworthy bike
- Cycling helmet
- Bike lights recommended
- Comfortable clothing – thin layers are best
- Light waterproof jacket
How much does it cost?
Payment of £30 is required to secure your place on the course and covers all costs.
