After the success of 2016, the 2017 Evesham CycleFest aims to be a totally inclusive celebration of cycling for everyone. We’ve taken all of the feedback given to us in 2016, and improved the routes and facilities for this year’s event. We are going to be bigger and better this year and it’s sure to be a fantastic day’s cycling. We are again being supported by Boardman bikes and keep and eye on our facebook page and twitter for more announcements soon….

Flat Frolic – 43 miles (Avoiding Saintbury Hill)
Romp – 74 miles
Welcome to an update on CycleFest 2017.
If you’ve wondered why we’ve moved a weekend earlier this year, it’s due to the Tour of Britain departing from Worcester on the 10th, and the pros will be taking a path which follows part of our sportive route – which might have made things interesting!
But we’ll be building on all the things we learnt last year to make CycleFest even more successful, and to give more people a great day out on bikes in the Vale.
The Evesham Escapade Sportive is back again – and we’ve listened to what our riders told us last year.
We were asked for a route that didn’t involve Saintbury hill on the shorter route, so you’ll now see a ‘Flat Frolic’ option – perfect for parents and children to enjoy together.
And at the other end of the scale, some riders wanted a bit more of a challenge, so we’ve introduced a 101 mile route.
Whether you are looking at an 101 mile challenge, or a 1 mile, then there will be something for you on the Sunday of CycleFest.
The leisure ride was enjoyed by over 70 riders last year, of all ages, and will be a 16 mile ride with led groups available to help out.
For the youngest riders, the childrens ride will again take them along the riverside footpath and back, ready for a triumphant return under the finish arch.
At CycleFest HQ there will be lots to see and do, from skate demos courtesy of the Bonk Skate team, circus skills, climbing wall, Wattbike racing, bike powered smoothie making, and much more! This year, the Barista Buggy will be joining us with their excellent coffee
Charity Partner 2017
Our charity partner this year will the the Alzheimer’s Society, and the Young Onset Dementia Service in Worcestershire.
Every entry will benefit these causes, and we are sure you’ll join us in agreeing that they are a very deserving cause.
Could you spare 2 hours to help at CycleFest? Or a couple of hours to refurbish a bike? Or are you great with design? Whatever your skills, amount of time available, or inclination, CEV would love your help. Just get in touch, whatever you could offer will be very gratefully accepted.
CycleFest particularly needs: marshals, registration helpers, course markers, people to help at feedstops, medal hander outers, and people to accompany the leisure and childrens rides. Some roles it’ll be fine to bring children with you, others will still let you ride – please just ask
